I am in the process of trying to get my Fm2 but, the INM says that I need to have our marraige certificate apostilled. I have found out that I have to do this in Georgia but, I can't go there now. Does anybody know of a way around this? Or, has anyone been through this? Any advice is welcome!!! Please!!!
I had my documents apostilled in GA while living in El Salvador. It is possible if you still have a friend or family there who is willing to let you use their address.
ReplyDeleteDont know how Georgia works but I was able get my birth certificate apostilled by mail in Iowa. I dont remember if I had it sent to texas or iowa.
ReplyDeleteI've also had to have my college diploma and birth certificate apostilled, but my parents are still in California, so they did it for me. As far as I know, there is no way of getting around it. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteIf you plan on getting your citizenship in a couple of years you will need your birth certificate apostiled also. And if there is a consulate near where you get it done see if they can authenticate and translate both. If not you will have to pay to have them done by a perito here in Mexico. Try to have a family member get it done and ask them to get you several copies (certified and apostiled) and mail them separately so you will have backup ones, since mail is iffy and everyone wants your originals although inm will let you keep them.
